Brougham Bank
Brougham Elementary & Security Savings Bank are teaming up to bring a mini-bank to your school.
Why open a bank at a school?
- To learn the importance of saving for the future by setting small financial goals.
- To learn about banking at any early age.
- To learn about bank transactions, marketing, customer service and teller responsibilities.
- To learn the importance of team work and accuracy.
How will the bank work?
- School staff will assist in bank operations.
- Students will run the bank in positions as bank president, marketing director, teller and customer service representative.
- Actual Security Savings Bank employees will oversee bank operations.
- The bank will be open once a week on Tuesday before school.
- Only deposits with no cash back can be made at the mini-bank.
- Withdrawals can be made from accounts at any Security Savings Bank location.
Will the banking be real?
- All accounts opened and deposits made at the school bank are FDIC insured, and earn interest.
- A deposit receipt will be issued at the school and quarterly account statements will be mailed.
- Once established, accounts may be viewed at www.securitysb.com
