FIRST Robotics Team 1710 was the Kansas City Regional Champion and Chairman’s award winner. They also won the Underwriter’s Laboratory Safety and Rockwell Automation Innovation in Control Award at the Iowa Regional. They qualified for the World Championship in Houston, Tx and at that made it into the semifinals of the elimination rounds which is the furthest our team has ever made it.

Engineering Academy hosted the BotsKC Regional Competition where 28 teams from local schools, Iowa State, Kansas State, and Pittsburg State University competed. Team Valkyrie won the Documentation Award. Team Cerberus won Grand Champion.. Both teams will continue to the National Competition in California, Pennsylvania in May.

Students from the Engineer a Better World Capstone competed in the Rube Goldberg Competition at Olathe West High School and won that event. They will be competing in the National Competition next week in Chicago at the Museum of Science and Industry.
The Engineering Academy Electrathon Capstone team competed in the first race of the Kansas Electrorally series in Beloit Kansas and earned a 1st and 3rd place finish for their two vehicles. The Second race of the series occurred in Scott City Kansas and the ONW cars placed 5th and 11th. The final Race of the series will occur May 5th at CBAC where they will learn their final ranking based on the results of the three race series. The ONW Cars are currently ranks 2nd and 4th in the series standing so May 5th should be an exiting race!
The TSA team won the State competition a couple weeks ago. 13 students qualified for the National Competition which is the most in ONW history.
