United way of Greater Kansas City is partnering with H&R Block to offer My Free Taxes, an income tax e-filing system free for households that make $66,000 or less.  The IRS-certified and secure service offers free filing for federal and up to three state returns. 

Maguire Gilner Angel Day 5K Run/Walk posted on February 6th, 2019

We invite you to join us for a special event on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Frontier Park in Olathe.  The 7th Annual Maguire Gilner Angel Day 5K Run/Walk is an event that honors Maguire Gilner and his brother Titus, as well as all babies/children who left this world way too early.  This is a family event with music, food, activities for the kids, shopping, a Tot Trot, bake sale, silent auction, and much more.  Proceeds from the day benefit the Maguire Davis Gilner Foundation, which helps local families purchase headstones for babies and children.

Jadon’s Hope Foundation Bug Run 2019 posted on January 29th, 2019

The 7th Annual Jadon’s Hope Bug Run/Walk is on a quest to find a cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).  Jadon, a 4th grade student at Rolling Ridge Elementary, has lived with SMA since birth.  Jadon’s HOPE Foundation strives to promote educational awareness and fund research for Spinal Muscular Atrophy, the #1 genetic killer of infants under the age of two.  The Foundation also provides support for families affected by terminal childhood diseases.  This year’s 5K/10K and Bitty Bug Dash is March 30.

MNU offers a Spring Break Soccer Camp for boys and girls ages 5-14, March 11-14, 8:30-noon.  This is a great opportunity for children to tune up for the upcoming Spring season.

Free meals are provided for those 18 and under. Adults may accompany children.  Meals must be eaten on-site and Kindergarteners and younger must be supervised.  Meals are offered Monday through Friday, January 7-May 23.  Specific times are provided on the flyer.

Open to students Kdgn-Gr. 8.  Kids’ registration includes free T-shirt, goodie bag, race number and medal.  Free training program included for children.  Children will run 1.2 miles on race day to earn the Munchkin Marathon medal.  Race day is April 13.   English      Spanish

Olathe Youth Baseball is a premiere baseball organization that has been serving Johnson County’s youth since 1953.  OYB is dedicated to players seven years of age through high school seniors who want to play baseball.  Players can register in the Early Bird Registration (January 2-31) or February 1-March 11 Regular Registration.
