Kids, bring your parents for a fun morning of interactive play as you help the design team plan the future Lake Olathe Nature Playground.  Saturday, March 8, 9 a.m.-noon at the Heritage Center, 1200 E. Kansas City Rd.  Hosted by the City of Olathe Parks and Recreation Department. 

Special Needs Resource Fair posted on February 15th, 2018

If you are a parent, teacher, or caregiver of an individual with special needs, or a self advocate, the Special Needs Resource Fair is for you. Over 80 vendors representing various disabilities, information on camps, equipment, therapies, services, interactive sensory demonstrations, entertainment and much more will be available Tuesday, February 27, 5-8:00 p.m. at the Hilltop Conference Center, 7700 W. 143rd St. Overland Park. The event is free and open to the public.

ACEing Autism posted on February 8th, 2018

Kids need something to do?  How about a week of soccer at MidAmerica Nazarene University?  Dates are March 12-15for students ages 5-14 (8:30 a.m.-noon).  The camp is staffed by MNU’s soccer coaches and players.

Take Me Home is intended to assist adults and children who may have trouble communicating due to developmental or cognitive disabilities such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Dementia and Alzheimer’s.  The program is a free service offered to the citizens of Johnson County Kansas by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. 

Kansas Rush Soccer Club – Spring 2018 posted on December 18th, 2017

Registration is open for Spring 2018 soccer.  Olathe Rush offers a recreational league for preschool-adult, and a competition league with pre-tryout camp and tryouts. 

Drawing Classes for Kids posted on December 14th, 2017

Children ages 4-12 can enroll in art classes at the Olathe Community Center.  Various opportunities are scheduled 6-7:00 p.m. on Thursdays and Winter break, plus a Thursday morning class for ages 4-5.

Opportunities are available through the College Church of the Nazarene to support families and individuals at times of need.  Current options include GriefShare, Depression & Anxiety, Divorce Care, Life’s Healing Choices, Individuals with Lived Experience of Mental Illness, Family + Friends of Those with Mental Illness and Band of Brothers (sexual addition and/or pornography).  See flyer for schedule.
