Special Requirements: Criteria for Consideration: 

  • Participation in the AVID program including maintaining the required 2.6 GPA.
  • Financial need (as determined by Federal Free & Reduced Lunch program’s economic standards.)
  • Completed application including a well written essay in which student conveys commitment to educational aspirations and any specific circumstances that might pose a challenge.
  • Two letters of recommendation by someone at least 21 years of age and not related to the student.
  • Recipients are tapped their sophomore year; funding accrues during their sophomore, junior, and senior years of high school.

Amount: $1,000.00
Special Requirements: The Morning Grange #227 Scholarship Fund will benefit students who are planning to attend a college or vocational school who have attended high school in the Olathe, Gardner, and Spring Hill areas.  The students eligible for assistance are as follows:

  • GPA of 2.5 or better in high school.  This must be maintained in college also.
  • The school must be approved by the federal government for student aid.
  • The recipient must maintain full time student status as defined by the attending institution.
  • The recipient must be pursuing an undergraduate degree or attending a vocational or trade school.
  • Morning Grange #227 members will be exempt from residency requirements.  A Grange member is defined as a member of good standing or related to a member in good standing by no more than two generations – grandparent, parent or grandchild.
  • Recipient is eligible to renew the Morning Grange #227 scholarship.

Special Requirements: Who is Eligible:

1.  Any boy or girl who has participated in some form of High School Athletics.

2. The applicant must be an average or better student scholastically.

3. Only high school senior, college level freshmen or sophomores who are enrolled or intend to enroll in an approved junior college, college, university, or trade school will be considered.

Must include latest 1040 income statement; official transcript; three letters of recommendation; 250-500 word essay on “Why I Want To Go To College“; recent photo.

Special Requirements: This $500.00 scholarship is in memory of Dr. Cowger and open to any male who has participated in the Kansas American Legion Baseball Program. Is an average or better student, and plans to enroll in a Kansas junior college, college, university, or trade school.
