  • Kansas Math & Reading State Assessment Results

    2015-16 KS State Reading and Math Assessment results have arrived! On Oct. 18, in their English class, freshmen and juniors received their 2015-16 Kansas State Reading and Math Assessment results.

    After distributing the assessment results and the parent letter (attached), English 9 and 11 teachers will spent several minutes discussing with students their results on the math and reading assessments and then encouraged them to discuss their results with their parents that evening. Attached, you will find the 2016 District Parent Letter in both English and Spanish from USD 233 Superintendent Dr. Pat All, as well as the 2016 Parent Guide in both English and Spanish that contains a letter from Dr. Randy Watson, KS Commissioner of Education, with some tips provided by the District Assessment Office that will help you better understand your student’s results.

    Students in Eng. 9 and/or Applied Algebra, Applied Geometry, Algebra or Geometry also brought home their 2016-17 Fall Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) results on Oct. 18 to give to their parents. MAP Fall 2016 Talking Points in both English and Spanish are attached. Students have had an opportunity to review their results and set goals for Qt. 2. Opportunity to check for growth will occur in December during the Winter MAP session.

  • Farmers Thanks a Million Grant: Vote For South!

    Help us win the grant to install hydration stations in our building. It is our hope to help students and staff stay hydrated, which can impact student learning. We also hope to reduce waste.

    In our effort to win this grant, we are calling on our all of our students, staff, parents and community to help us. Each person is able to vote daily during October 1-31. To do so, please go to https://www.farmers.com/thank-americas-teachers/vote-for-a-teacher/vote-for-a-proposal-form/?orderBy=last_name and complete the following steps:
    1. Once on the vote for a proposal page, enter either the name of the OS staff member you wish to vote for, which is  Nycklemoe, or the city, which is Olathe and then click on Carol Nycklemoe’s proposal.
    2. Enter your valid email address when prompted.
    3. Check box agreeing that you understand that the only Farmers Insurance communications you will receive will be Thank America's Teachers voting confirmation emails.
    4. Click submit. Please note clicking submit does not verify your vote.
    5. Verify your vote by clicking the link in the email sent to the email address provided in Step 2.
    6. Click (do not copy & paste) the link in your email inbox to confirm your vote.
    7. Repeat daily for the month of October.
