Falcon Closet Needs
We continue to celebrate The Falcon Closet, which is an invaluable support program for students in need. With the colder temperatures, we continue to find we are in need of the following items: jeans, hoodies, long-sleeved shirts, coats, and sweatpants. We could especially benefit from girls’ clothing and personal care products, such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. If you’d like to donate any of these items, please drop them off in the front office in attention to the Falcon Closet. You may request a receipt for tax purposes if you’d like. We greatly appreciate your continued support of this program!
Adopt-a-School Partnerships Continue to Grow and Thrive
The district’s Adopt-a-School Partner Program continues to greatly benefit Olathe South. These Adopt-A-School Partnerships allow for developing a relationship between an outside organization or group and a particular school. Olathe South has the privilege of partnering with Leah Smith and Leah Smith’s Farmers Agency, Pastor Phil McDowell and Church of the Harvest, Jeremy Loe and 135th Street Sam’s Club, and Dr. Steven Reece and Key Dynamics Chiropractic. Our partnership continues to grow and flourish, and we are thrilled to work together to find opportunities that support both students and staff. A few of the many ways Olathe South receives support from our partnerships are the following:
--teacher appreciation notes/treats and gift card give-aways
--monetary and item donation for both staff and student events and needs
--community service opportunities
--support of our morning Open Gym Program
At our recent meeting on Jan. 12, the Falcon Service Club board expressed their appreciation to our partners with posters of thanks.
