Rhonda Reist

For more than two decades Rhonda has shared her knowledge and excitement of learning. She created the Faraday Society at Olathe North High School for current and former high school students to present chemistry demonstrations for a variety of audiences. She was a science consultant for the Kansas City Museum and earned its Teacher of the Year honor in 1999. She was the District 3 Kansas Teacher of the Year (1997) and earned the Christa McAuliffe Fellowship from the Kansas Department of Education (1999). The Olathe North Honor Society Norman L. Reist Award was bestowed upon her in 2004. In 2011, her students won the secondary school category of the Battle of the Brains competition in Kansas City, Mo., and earned a $50,000 grant for their school. In spring 2012, she returned for the fifth year as a lecturer at the National Science Teachers Association national convention.
