School History
California Trail Junior High, one of eight junior high schools in the Olathe District, opened its doors in August of 1996 to greet students in grades 7 - 9. The school colors are black and gold and the mascot is the "Bulldog".
California Trail offers a variety of clubs, service organizations, activities and competitions to enhance the junior high experience. ACE - Art Creation Experience, Literary Magazine, Student Leadership Club, Pep Club, Drama Club, Knitting Club, Multicultural Club, KAYS, Drill Team, Cheerleading, athletics, intramurals (new this year - Cross Country), music competitions, Jazz Lab, the Honor Roll Program, Academic Letter Program, Math Counts, and Science Olympiad are all activities which appeal to a wide variety of students.
