CAMP READ A LOT

Strong reading abilities set the stage for successful education. To help develop reading skills, Cedar Creek Elementary will have a school-wide reading program beginning September 1, 2008 called Camp Read A Lot. This program motivates children to read at home by rewarding them for their reading accomplishments.

• A monthly reading goal has been set for all students.
• Read for 20 minutes a day (10 minutes for Kindergarten and First grades) and check off each day on the calendar.
• Check off twenty (20) days or more to reach the monthly goal.

To receive credit for days read, a calendar marked with days read, along with a parent signature must be returned at the end of each month.

In May, every child will receive a book donated by the Cedar Creek PTO for participating in this program. In addition, all students who reach their reading goal for the entire program will receive a reading medallion for their Cedar Creek Elementary lanyard.
