BulletCONSIDERATIONS

  • Before enrolling in eAcademy you will need to visit with your counselor or the eAcademy staff. You should be aware that online learners often find out that the time commitment of taking classes online is greater than that of being in the regular classroom. You may download the PDF Icon Considerations For Potential Students flier and read it for more information about student learning traits and expectations.
  • Public school students should discuss their options with their counselor and determine their alternatives and the responsibilities that come with taking on online course work before requesting enrollment. Non-traditional and home schooled students should talk with eAcademy staff to determine the best course of action for them.

BulletENROLLMENT PROCESS - Online Enrollment Application Aroow

  • Upon the recommendation of a counselor (you need a Permission To Enroll Code from your counselor) or eAcademy staff, enrollment can proceed.
  • You will need to fill out and submit the ONLINE ENROLLMENT FORM. Before submitting you may print a copy for your records if you wish.
  • Summer eAcademy students complete the Enrollment Information form as well, preferably before the registration might in May, but definitely by the June start-up meeting. Summer eAcademy information can be found below.
  • Once accepted, the student will receive confirmation through student email, often within one day.
  • You also may visit the eAcademy office at the Instructional Resource Center, 14090 Blackbob Road, and enroll in person.
  • Students are required to check their student email account daily and should begin watching for session startup messages beginning the first day of each school semester.

BulletSUMMER 2010 SESSION INFORMATION

  • The Summer eAcademy Flier provides detailed information and a copy of the registration form.
  • Summer eAcademy offers a limited selection of courses to students to complete during an intense eight-week summer session. The compressed rate of learning is rigorous and students must be prepared to devote approximately two hours per weekday to course completion during the eight-week session.
  • Summer eAcademy is intended for advanced placement students or those in specialty programs who will experience scheduling conflicts in their four-year plan. Counselor permission is required to enroll; obtain their signature on the registration form which can be provided by the counselor or in the Summer eAcademy Flier (link above).
  • You can also download the startup information (coming later) that will be given to students at the May 13 pre-registration night.
  • Information about our Summer PE course is on the Courses page.

Summer 2010 enrollment is May 13th at California Trail JHS from 4-8 PM.
There is a fee for summer courses, and counselor permission is required.
Use the flier link above to download the Summer eAcademy Flier and counselor permission form, for more information.

Summer enrollment priority is granted to Olathe students first. Upon determination that there is space available (after the May 13 enrollment night), enrollment may be opened to students not currently enrolled in an Olathe school. If there is not space available for non-Olathe students you will be notified and your fees will be refunded.

BulletCOMPUTER PROFICIENCY EXAM

  • eAcademy also administers the Olathe District's Computer Proficiency Exam. Usually this is given on the Friday of Parent-Teacher Conferences in October and February, and again on the teacher work day (just after students' last day) in May. Students who do not pass the first time may repeat the exam once. Information is available from your counselor or you can download a PDF Icon Flier and Registration Form here.
