Parents are a key element in the success of online students. It is very important for parents to encourage students to keep up to date with assignments and meet weekly deadlines. Parents are expected to know their student's login and password to check electronic gradebooks frequently, and to communicate with the course instructor if any questions arise.

Students and parents are required to complete an online Orientation and electronically verify a Code of Student Conduct and Parent Contract indicating that they understand the expectations and procedures of the eAcademy, including the Probationary Admissions and plagiarism policies.

Parents may also be asked to complete and sign a Parent Log (for state audit) in September as students complete work at home. Complete instructions and forms are mailed a week before the due date. As students log their time, parents are to initial and verify the accuracy of the log. This is important for the administrative accounting that eAcademy has to do for our program.

Parents may use their student's login to check the BlackBoard gradebook for those courses that use this grading record.
