PARENT ACCESS
Olathe District Schools is providing a unique opportunity for you to view your child's school information via the web. ParentCONNECTxp is a convenient home-to-school collaboration tool that allows parents to enhance their involvement by keeping track of their children's academic progress online via an easy-to-use Web site. Parents may visit the password-protected site to view their students' grades, assignments, daily attendance, course history, and demographic and health/immunization data. The opportunity is available only at secondary schools at this time. Attendance and Tardies
Absences
Parents of the student who will be absent are requested to notify the attendance secretary prior to 8:00 a.m. the day of the absence. Parents need not wait for office hours to communicate an expected absence. You may access the voice mailbox and leave this message any time outside of regular office hours by calling 913- 780-7244 .
If the school office has not heard from a parent/guardian by 10:00 a.m. regarding your student's absence, you will be contacted by phone at home or work to verify the absence. You may email Ms.

Tardies
Students who arrive to school after 8:00 a.m. should sign in at the office to obtain an admit slip to class. Any arrival after 8:20 a.m. is considered an absence from first hour.
Throughout the school day the student's teachers will address tardies to class. Consequences will be assigned and should there be repeated incidents of tardiness, the situation may be referred to an administrator for further review.

Homework
Upon request, homework will be collected on the second consecutive day that your student is absent. Requests made by 8:00 a.m. may be picked up after 3:30 p.m. the same day. Students who are going out of town are responsible for requesting their own homework in advance. Forms are available in the office.
Appointments
Parents are requested to provide a written request or phone call to the attendance secretary prior to arriving to sign their student out of school for an appointment. Students may only be released to persons listed on the enrollment information card. Parents are asked to sign students out in the office at the time of departure. Students may sign themselves in upon their return to school. Again, all are encouraged to attempt to avoid scheduling appointments during the school day.

Notes from the Nurse
Medication
All prescription medication must be registered in the health office and must be in the original prescription bottle. Those medications to be administered under supervision will require a physician's order on file. Students may carry other medications such as antibiotics and inhalers, unless the parent or physician requests supervision. The student may carry common over the counter medication for minor discomforts (Tylenol, Midol, and Advil) with parent permission. The student should carry only what is necessary for that day in the original container.
At no time should any medication be distributed by students to other students.
Distribution of controlled substances, including prescription medications, by students is unlawful. You make click Here to check the nurse's website.
