Olathe District Schools Graduation Requirements
To graduate from Olathe East High School, a student must earn 24 credits, 17 of which are required:
    Four credits of English
    Three credits of Math
    Three credits of Social Studies
    Two credits of Science
    One credit of PE/Health
    One credit of Applied Communications
    One credit of Technology
    One credit of Fine Arts
    One credit of Practical and Consumer Studies

Board of Regents - Qualifed Admissions Curriculum
To be admitted to one of the state universities, (Emporia State, Fort Hays State, Kansas State, Pittsburg State, University of Kansas, or Wichita State) new feshmen must meet one of following requirements:
    ACT composite of 21 OR
    Rank in the top one-third of the graduating class OR
    Have a 2.0 GPA or higher on a 4.00 scale in the Kansas Qualified     Admissions college-prep curriculum.

Kansas Qualified Admissions Curriculum Includes:
     Four credits of English (not Journalism, Reading, or Literary Magazine)
     Three credits of Social Studies
     Three credits of Math - must begin with Algebra I  
          or higher class
     Three credits of Natural Science - one must be chemistry
          or physics
     One credit of Computer Technology

Board of Regents - Kansas Scholars Curriculum
This is a state-sponsored scholarship program.  Names of students who complete this curriculum are sent to the Board of Regents along with the student's GPA.  The Board determines the State Scholars; these are the students who can apply for the following need-based scholarships:  Kansas State Scholar Scholarship, Nursing Scholarship, Teaching Scholarship, Minority Scholarhip.  These scholarships range from $50 - $1,000 and must be used at a Kansas college or university.  To be considered as a scholar, this curriculum must be met:
     Four credits of English
     Three credits of Social Studies
     Four credits of Math, must begin with Algebra 1
           or higher class
     Three credits of Science - must be biology,
           chemistry, and physics
     One credit of Computer Technology
     Two credits of Foreign Language - must be the
           same language
