The ACT Program Fee-Waiver Service is designed to help students from whom test fees represent obstacles on the road to college.

High school juniors and seniors in the United States, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories who cannot afford to pay the test fees can request fee waivers through their school counselors.

The waivers cover the basic test fees for ACT.  Each qualifying student is eligible for two fee waivers.  A fee waiver may qualify you for application fee waivers at many colleges. See your counselor for more information or to find out if you qualify.

The Olathe District Schools is offering an ACT Online Workshop for sophomores to provide strategies for preparing for the ACT test. The online course will provide test-taking strategies in English, Math, Science and Reading as well as actual tests to take and solutions with feedback.
The tutorial is available from February 19th – May 17th and can be completed anywhere there is internet access. The cost of $30 will pay for the entire workshop. Information and enrollment form for the class can be obtained by emailing:  mmitchelloe@olatheschoools.com.  Enrollment forms are also available in the counseling office. ACT and SAT Testing Information
ACT and College Board (SAT) recommend on-line registration. Additional registration information and/or packets are available in the Counseling Office. ACT and SAT registration fee information is included within the registration packet. The ACT and the SAT are two tests that are used for college admission and scholarship purposes. They are different tests produced by different testing companies. They test different areas of knowledge, and they are scored differently.

The ACT will be offered at Olathe East in October, April and June. Seniors often take an ACT in October. It is recommended that Grade 11 students take their first ACT in April or June if planning to attend a four year college or university. The ACT is generally preferred by colleges in the Midwest and is accepted throughout the nation.

The SAT has a mandatory writing component and the ACT features an optional writing section that some colleges and universities will require. How will you know what a college requires? Check for admission requirements at university websites. Both ACT and SAT offer online preparation tests. Encourage students to practice!

**The PSAT and three ACT tests are available at Olathe East.

Olathe East School Code: 172-221
