2011 - 2012 Project Graduation / After Prom
Project Graduation is a committee made up of parents of all grades at Olathe East. The group's main purpose is to raise money to sponsor Project Graduation to provide a drug / alcohol free environment for the Senior students on graduation night. These events are 100% parent supported and sponsored. Project Graduation was formed in 1993 and we average a 90% or more participation rate from our student body and hope to carry on the tradition.
Each year Olathe East hosts the Taste of Johnson County - the largest fundraiser for Project Graduation. The Taste is scheduled for Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Olathe East. Area restaurants and caterers fill the gym for an evening of food and fun. This is a great opportunity to support OE students while trying a variety of food all at the same time. Mark your calendar for this event - you don't want to miss it!
Project Graduation is May 20, 2012 with student check -in beginning around 10:15 pm. Although the event begins and ends at OEHS, students are bused to and from the event site. Students must show a ticket (purchased the last week of school during lunch hour) and a photo ID to get on the bus. ABSOULUTELY NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD THE NIGHT OF THIS EVENT. STUDENTS MUST PURCHASE THEIR TICKET IN ADVANCE! A variety of food and beverages will be provided throughout the night. Activities planned include bowling, card games, miniature golf, laser tag, and much more. Students will be bused back to OEHS around 3:00 am where they will claim their prizes.
The Project Graduation Committee meets in the SW corner of the commons in the Olathe East faculty lounge at 7:00 pm the third Tuesday of each month. Please watch the OE newsletter for any meeting date changes due to weather or other events. We would love to have you get involved! Please join us!
Project Graduation has created a Facebook page under Olathe East Project Graduation 2012. "Like" the Facebook page to receive updated information about meetings and fundraisers.
