ATTENTION PARENTS
There is a confirmed case of chicken pox at Olathe North High School. Please observe your children for any signs and symptoms and DO NOT send them to school if symptomatic.
Vaccine is available at the
Johnson County Health Department - 894-2525
and many private providers.
Contact the nurse with any questions you may have. 780-7142.
THIS YEAR - KDHE's instructions regarding Chicken Pox has changed - Any un-immunized student through grade 10 (this vaccine is not yet required for grade 11 and 12) who either shares a class or is in the same sport (e.g. any extracurricular activity) as a student who contracts chicken pox, and the student who contracted chicken pox was at school while contagious, must be excluded from school for 21 days (or if in the same household as in the case of a sibling, 21 days past the last day of new vesicle eruption). The parents of un-immunized students have the option of vaccinating their student, and if so, immediately readmitting to school.
Your nurse's tip is: Avoid having your child excluded from school
HAVE THEM IMMUNIZED!

2010-11 Cheerleaders
In June the weekend started with our fight song performance and two home pom performances. We were the only school to bring a fight song performance and one of only 3 schools to bring home pom routines. We received a gold superior ribbon for our fight song (and first place since we were the only school). Our JV girls won 1st place on their pom dance and our Varsity girls won 2nd place on thier pom dance. We received a TON of positive comments from many of the Missouri schools on all of these performances. We really set the bar high on the first day!
That same night we had a Jump off contest. Junior Tyana Sullivan and 9th grader Desi Wright made it to the finals of the non-varsity division with Desi Wright winning the competition!!!
While at camp we worked on creating an Extreme Routine. We combined both JV and V for the competition and while we were not able to basket toss (against KSHAA rules) we received all Supior ratings and won 3rd place in Camp Champs Contest!
And if that wasn't enough--we were allowed to have 6 girls try out for All-American: Freshman Aleia Neal, Sophomores Lauren Anderson and Abbie Bishop and Seniors Molly Davis, Ashley Donahue and Morgan Twidwell. We were the ONLY school to have ALL of the girls who tried out for All American actually RECEIVE All American! In fact, Aleia Neal was the ONLY FRESHMAN in the whole camp to receive this award.
And finally, Morgan Twidwell was offered the opportunity to try out to become a future UCA Cheer Instructor!
We couldn't be prouder of the work ethic and dedication this young team has!
