ART COURSES

Art 6 - This course is a quarter class that is designed for ALL sixth grade students, even for those who don't think they can draw! The students will explore a variety of 2-D and 3-D media. Basic techniques and an overview of artistic materials will be stressed. The emphasis will be on developing the student's creativity and imagination.

Art I- This introductory art course is designed to provide seventh and eighth grade students an opportunity to experience drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, and sculpture. The Elements of Art, artists, and art history will provide a framework for this experience.

Art II- This course is designed for both seventh and eighth grade students who will be building on what they learned in Art I. There will be an emphasis on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design while creating a variety of 2-D and 3-D projects. Students may be requested to bring materials for any projects other than those already supplied. *Prerequisite: Art I.

Art III- This course is designed for eighth grade students who wish to further their individual skills in selected art media. This advanced class offers an in-depth examination of the creative process. Students may be requested to bring materials for any projects other than those already supplied. *Prerequisite: Art II.
